The BJP Can't Afford To Lose Delhi This Time...

Delhi Elections 2025: Will Modi’s BJP Finally Take Over?

A Positive Perspective by Dr Sunil S Rana

Tomorrow is the big day—Delhi goes to vote. The national capital, long ruled by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with a past legacy of the Congress, stands at a crucial juncture. After a decade of AAP's governance, Delhiites have witnessed both its highs and lows—freebies, controversies, governance clashes, and now, an administration riddled with scandals and infighting. Meanwhile, the BJP has remained at loggerheads with AAP, trying to gain control over a city that has eluded it for over two decades.

Being born and brought up in Delhi, I have watched the city's political dynamics unfold like a drama series—sometimes entertaining, sometimes frustrating, but always intriguing. And this time, I believe, we are on the brink of a significant change. The BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cannot afford to lose Delhi again. The stakes are simply too high.

Why BJP Needs Delhi Now More Than Ever

Delhi is not just another state—it is the power center of India. Yet, despite being the capital, its growth has not matched the pace of BJP-ruled states like Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, or Madhya Pradesh. The developmental contrast is striking—Delhi, under AAP, has been stuck in political squabbles with the Lieutenant Governor and the central government, often playing the victim card whenever projects get stalled.

The BJP, which controls Delhi Police, the MCD, and multiple agencies, has often found itself in a battle of governance with AAP. With the negative perception of AAP growing due to its internal chaos, allegations of corruption, and lack of clear leadership beyond Arvind Kejriwal, this election provides BJP the perfect opportunity to step in and finally run Delhi the way it envisions—a city that aligns with Modi’s national development agenda.

The Neck-and-Neck Battle: Who Holds the Edge?

This election is going to be a thriller, with turnout expected to be higher than usual. While BJP has strong support among the middle and upper-middle-class voters, the poor, Muslim community, and alleged Bangladeshi Rohingya migrants will attempt to keep BJP at bay, ensuring AAP or even Congress remains relevant.

However, the mood of Delhi suggests otherwise. With AAP's governance model showing cracks and Kejriwal’s brand of politics losing its initial charm, many first-time voters and swing voters are leaning towards BJP. The saffron party has sharpened its campaign, pushing development narratives, Modi’s vision, and the idea of a “corruption-free” Delhi. The disillusionment with AAP’s freebies, combined with Modi’s popularity, may tip the scales in BJP’s favor.

What If BJP Wins?

If BJP finally captures Delhi, we can expect:

More centralized control over governance, eliminating the deadlocks between the Delhi government and the Centre.

Faster execution of infrastructure projects—especially transport, housing, and urban planning.

A possible shift in policies, moving away from AAP’s freebie culture towards a more self-reliant economic model.

The biggest challenge for BJP will be proving that it can run Delhi better than AAP, ensuring people don’t regret their decision.

Final Thoughts: The Modi Factor Will Decide Delhi’s Fate

Delhi has always been a political battlefield, but this election feels different. The frustration with AAP is real, and BJP’s hunger to win is at its peak. Modi knows that winning Delhi would not just be a political victory but a symbolic statement—that BJP, despite multiple past failures, is finally ready to govern the capital.

Tomorrow, Delhi votes. And this time, I believe, it will choose change. BJP has the momentum, and it may finally be its turn to take the reins of Delhi.

AI IS THE FUTURE...

The AI Revolution: Transforming the Present and Reshaping the Future: By Dr Sunil S Rana  Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a futuristic concept confined to science fiction; it is now an integral part of our daily lives. The AI revolution is reshaping industries, redefining work structures, and transforming the global economy at an unprecedented pace. From healthcare to finance, education to agriculture, AI is driving innovations that were once unimaginable. However, this transformation comes with challenges—job displacement, ethical concerns, and the need for new skills. India, with its growing AI talent pool, is playing a crucial role in this revolution. The country’s participation in global AI summits, such as the one in France, signifies its rising influence. As AI experts emerge as the new architects of the global workforce, India’s position as a leader in AI-driven solutions becomes more evident. However, with projections estimating over 100 crore jobs lost glob...

BJP's Victory...

BJP’s Historic Win in Delhi: A Victory of Strategy, Hard Work, and People’s Will. By Dr Sunil S Rana  "Politics is not a game. It is an earnest business." – Winston Churchill. Delhi has spoken, and it has spoken decisively. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious in the Delhi Vidhan Sabha elections, marking a significant political shift in the national capital after more than two decades. While some political analysts and Congress loyalists are trying to paint this as a strategic "revenge" by the Congress against AAP, the truth is far from it. BJP’s win was not a matter of chance or arithmetic manipulation; it was a well-planned, systematically executed campaign that resonated with the people of Delhi. The Myth of Congress’s "Vote Cutting" Strategy. A common argument floating around is that BJP won because Congress strategically cut into AAP’s vote share. However, this is nothing more than a lazy excuse to dismiss the real reasons be...

Delhi Election: Vote For Change...

Delhi Elections 2025: A Personal Perspective on the Battle for the Capital Dr Sunil S Rana  Being born and brought up in Delhi, I have seen this city evolve over decades; through its highs and lows, its development, and its growing pains. My journey of life began in Chanakyapuri, one of the most well-planned areas of the capital, but later, after my father was allotted a government quarter, we moved to the Police Colony in Andrews Ganj, near South Extension. I spent the first thirty years of my life there, watching Delhi change year after year, before finally shifting to Vasant Kunj. This city is not just my home; it is my witness to history, a living entity that has seen multiple governments come and go, each leaving its mark; sometimes positive, sometimes negative. I have seen Delhi before the grand flyovers, before the Metro, before the shopping malls that now dot every corner of the city. Back in the day, Delhi was a city of large open spaces, vibrant markets, and a se...
